Had one of the very first K reg Mondeos in White. Lovely car. Replacement for my trusty F reg Sierra with 141k miles which went to a friend who kept it for a few more years. Throttle cable on Mondeo snapped after 2 weeks, but apart from that it was trouble free. Once saw an indicated 129mph between Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath. Police had stopped someone for speeding and I reckoned they would be tied up for a bit so I went for it! Bodywork in Mondeo was miles better than Sierra. The result of poor British steel.
Have a 60 plate Transit at present with 189k on clock and has only required a front wheel bearing and a replacement power steering reservoir. Waiting on a new Kuga to replace current 2 year old Kuga.
Still miss my Mondeo. Read more
This was my car. It just sold to a chap who lives down the road from me. I also have a 1996 N GLX with 45,000 miles on the clock, which I'm just about to sell!
It's probably simplest to keep it fwd. The 4wd V70s are very fussy about the tyres being the same. I'd love something like this though. Read more
I run a 99 V70 diesel
