The grill and body side mouldings would indicate a "Mk2" (with the rod gearchange). Also, the front bumper has a "bullnose" centre - I believe this is from an ADO 73, i.e. Mk2 Marina. I was an apprentice at Cowley from 1969-73, and worked at Cowley until 1983. I owned both Mk1 and Mk2 Maxis. The Maxi was ahead of it's time (well, just behind the Renault 16), but like all BL products, it was left to the customers to do the development work. It just goes to show how much someone will pay for something they really want, to me it sounds like an awful lot of money. I don't expect it will see much use.
