How do I dispose of an old car?

I have a car which hasn't worked for a couple of years and needs to be taken away, probably at cost. At the moment it is SORN. I believe the log book still needs to be completed but does this only mean that the registered keeper has changed? Am I still the owner of the vehicle? If so, how do I remedy this?

To dispose of the car, most breakers will require the V5. If you don’t have this, then you need to fill out a V62 form, which is available online or from a Post Office.
