Top 10: NEC Classic Motor Show cars
This weekend's 2017 Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show looks set to be another resounding success, with over 2500 classics of all types on display. More than a million square feet of floorspace has been dedicated to old vehicles, which means there’s something for just about everyone. Here are ten of our favourite exhibits.
Henry HiRise
Anyone old enough to remember the custom car craze of the ’70s might recall Henry HiRise, which started out as a humble Ford Consul Mk2 and ended up as the creation you see here. Jacked up and boasting a 427cu.in. Chevy V8 under the bonnet, the bright yellow monster made it on to the front cover of the very first issue of Street Machine magazine in 1979. In more recent times it’s been restored to a similar custom spec, albeit now with a supercharged 468cu.in. V8 for awesome dragstrip performance.
