Two men quit to end strike
7 February 1959
Two car workers gave up £15-a-week jobs yesterday to end a strike.
The strike began on Wednesday when the two men were hired by a British Motor Corporation car body factory at Birmingham. Sixteen hundred men at the factory stopped work because, they said, the jobs should have gone to men previously made redundant.
The strike ended when the two men resigned.
