Great looking fantastic build quality and surprisingly easy to work on.

I always loved the looks of the R129 SL but it was completely out of my price bracket in the 1990's. Roll on 20 years and they are now very affordable but beware they do need regular maintenance and parts will need replacing. This is a car which when the sun is out is a pleasure to just drive for the sake of it. Mine has a full Mercedes Benz and specialist service history which is important. However these cars, if like me you have a bit of mechanical knowledge, are very easy to work on.
I don't see myself selling it as it is a great car and even now I would have no hesitation in taking it on a long journey knowing it will not miss a beat. There are a lot out there so if you are thinking about buying one look at quite a few as some are not quite as good as others!
