Hundreds head to Midlands Autojumble
Hundreds of people headed to the Midlands Autojumble at the start of the year to try and track down that elusive classic car part.
Held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on Sunday, 4 January, the event was a sell-out with all 216 stands taken. As well as car parts, visitors were able to browse automobilia, tools, motoring literature and much more.
A spokesman for the organisers AMR Events Ltd said, ‘Everything in the halls was absolutely (and deliberately) relevant to the classic/vintage car owner/restorer.
‘Despite the weather outside being in the minus figures, this venue being fully heated and located right on the major road network meant that, quite simply, the great British weather didn’t matter.’
Some visitors did complain about the parking at the site. A spokesman said, ‘We did clash with the Wasps Rugby match on open day.
‘When we booked the venue originally, it had a completely different set of owners and Rugby wasn’t played at The Ricoh at all, so there’s no way we could have known!’
‘Most people were very patient and understood the situation. We’ve had lots of positive feedback so far from all quarters and (already) very much look forward to the 2016 Autojumble Midlands.’
