Beaulieu's Simply Japanese is a hit
More than 430 cars turned out for the third Simply Japanese event, which was held at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, on Sunday, 2 August.
The display included a range of marques - Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Honda, Mitsubishi, Lexus and Datsun - with classics to the latest models on show, many in concours condition.
There was plenty of club support from the likes of MX-5 Drivers, Z Club, GT86, Dorset Japanese, Subaru Legacy, Nissan Sportz, MR2, Ultimate GTO, Skyline, Duke Owners and Ultimate Japanese clubs.
Visitors were invited to vote for their favourite vehicle in the People’s Choice Awards and the winner was Dan Smart’s 1995 R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R. Dan has owned the car for two years, during which time he has completely rebuilt it, boosting the power output from 300hp to 500hp, adding a glassfibre body kit and painting it Midnight Purple.
