All star cars confirmed for 2013 Kop Hill Climb
Heritage Aston Martins, historic F1 cars and circuit racers are all going to star in this year's Kop Hill Cllimb, which its organisers promise will be the biggest and best. The Kop Hill Climb (21-22 September) donates it proceeds to local charitable causes, is now in the fifth year, and is firmly established as one of the best events for the public to witness up close motoring icons in motion.
Aston Martin Heritage Trust has confirmed that it will be bringing the A3, the oldest surviving Aston Martin, to Kop Hill. It's the oldest surviviing expample of the marque, and is integral to the spirit of the original Kop Hill Climb, which lasted between 1910-1925. In 1922 Lionel Martin himself entered the A3 and won a first in class performance of taking 34.5 seconds for the hill climb.
Another star that will be at Kop Hill is the Jaguar XJ13 (below), which belongs to Jaguar Heritage. It will also be bringing the iconic 1983 TWR Jaguarsport XJ-S, which made such an impression in touing cars. The Ex-Derek Warwick 1989 Arrows A11 Formula 1 Racing Car will also be appearing on event Sponsors Historics at Brooklands’ stand.
Those with families seeking something rather more light-hearted can enjoy a wide range of children’s entertainments including a climbing wall and the soapbox racers!
