Ferrari Enzo is top lot at RM Sotheby’s London sale
Modern classics were once again in demand at auction. This time, a 2004 Ferrari Enzo proved to be top lot at RM Sotheby’s London sale on 6 September. The car, which was finished in Blu Tour de France and had 8884km on the clock, made £1.8m
Another strong seller was the 1955 Bentley R-Type Continental Fastback Sports Saloon. The car on offer was an ex-Bentley Drivers’ Club Concours Best in Class winner which was once owned by ex-Aston Martin Chairman and entrepreneur Victor Gauntlett. The R-Type achieved £826,250.
Porsches also did very well in the London sale, continuing a current market trend. Rounding out the top three places in London was a 1996 Porsche 911 GT2, one of just 161 road-going 993 GT2s with just 18,000 km and with minimal recent use. The hammer fell at £775,625.
While a 1971 Porsche 911 E delivered new to Kremer racing driver John Fitzpatrick. Offered for sale for the first time since 1972, this Conda Green right-hand-drive 911 E was in original condition and was driven onto the block by none other than John Fitzpatrick himself. The car sold for an above-estimate £126,500.
