Russ Swift’s Montego makes £2500 at auction

An Austin Montego that was once owned by stunt driver Russ Swift sold for £2500 at Anglia Car Auctions on Saturday, 23 January.

The Cashmere gold over Tempest grey 1988 Montego had an MoT until August and with 17,000 miles on the clock looked like it hadn’t seen a lot of action (no, it’s not the one that featured in the advert).

Coming from a private collection, it had two leather Montego key fobs (still in their bags), a number of previous MOT certificates, owner’s handbook pack, and a Haynes manual.

It came with a number of rare (and hard to get hold of) MG Montego Driving Display team documents featuring Russ Swift himself. There was also a DVD of Russ Swift's life in motorsport and with the MG Montego team.
