Lancaster Insurance’s Mini restoration heads to the NEC

Published 22 February 2016

Lancaster Insurance will be shining the spotlight on its own restoration project at this year’s Practical Classics Restoration & Classic Car Show in March.

Taking pride of place on the insurer’s stand (9-245), the 1969 Morris Mini Super Deluxe named Margo, will be auctioned following her restoration at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show in November in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

Displayed in her current state, Margo is being returned to her former glory by the MG Owners’ Club (MGOC) and over the weekend a member of the club’s workshop will be working on her engine and giving live demonstrations with two sessions on both days.

Richard Morley, Lancaster Insurance operations director said, ‘We’re really excited to be carrying out our first restoration project for a hugely worthwhile cause, Prostate Cancer UK. This show is seen as the season opener and we can’t wait to display our Mini, Margo in her current form to fellow enthusiasts - we may even pick up a tip or two!’

Follow Margo’s journey throughout 2016 in Classics Monthly, which will exclusively feature the restoration. For more information on the Practical Classics Restoration & Classic Car Show, taking place on 5-6 March visit the website.
