Can you recommend an insurance company to provide an agreed-value classic policy for my 1994 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?
I would like to add some comments to recent emails regarding the Mercedes-Benz W124 estate. My 16-year-old E-Class diesel estate was stolen in October 2006 and recovered via a tracking device. There was no visible damage to the car, however the keys no longer operated the driver’s door lock or the ignition lock. Your correspondent who suggests that the cars are being stolen with a key is probably correct. Following your comments I am acquiring a Disklok for the steering wheel (www.disklok.com). I have been unable to find an insurance company that will offer an agreed-value classic policy for this car. Can anybody help?

Very pleased you got it back before they containerised it, sent it to Albania and the tracking was lost. The man to consult about all matters concerning your W124 is Nicholas Froome at www.w124.co.uk. Some agreed value insurers are: www.classicowners.co.uk, www.footmanjames.co.uk, www.hagertyinsurance.co.uk and www.theopenroad.co.uk.
