Castle Hill Car Festival to rock Devon in August

Published 21 June 2013

The new Castle Hill Car Festival promises to be a spectacular family-friendly event that brings hundreds of classic cars together in beautiful surroundings near Barnstaple in Devon. The festival takes place on 3-4 August, and as well as static displays, there will be runs up the castle ground's 0.8-mile sprint run.

The event will be staged in the parkland grounds of the Castle Hill Estate, home to the Earl and Countess of Arran, which is located near South Molton, just 35 mins from J27 of the M5 and will feature a display of up to 1000 classic and historic vehicles brought together by clubs and private owners from throughout the country, and will include a special showcase display of over 40 historic Aston Martins to help celebrate their centenary year.

In addition to the static elements of the Festival we have introduced a feature motor sport event - the Track Sprint Challenge, an MSA regulated event which will provide vehicle owners the fantastic opportunity to test themselves and their machines in a timed competition track event in front of thousands of spectators. The track will also be used during the competition interval for selected new model demonstration runs.

The Trade Exhibition Area is adjacent to the main events arena and will feature cars from Bentley, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Lotus, Ford, Subaru, Isuzu, Renault, Nissan and Noble to name but a few.

Other confirmed attractions include a display from the Abarth stunt plane on both days, fantastic helicopter pleasure flights, race teams and cars from Generation AMR and Mission Motorsport, Bonhams, the specialist auctioneers and valuers, who will be providing market advice and free valuations, the Top Gear Experience plus laser clay shooting and archery. Other attractions will be added in the coming weeks. BBC Radio Devon will be there and their presenter David Fitzgerald will be the 'voice' of the Festival.
