Pair of barn-find Astons set for auction

Published 17 February 2016

Two Aston Martin ‘barn finds’ will go under the hammer next month. Combined, the Aston Martin V8 and Aston Martin Virage could fetch up to £65,000 at the Classic Car Auctions sale on Saturday, 19 March.

The 1973 Aston Martin V8 is one of just 288 produced and carries a top estimate of £40,000. It’s also one of the few manuals left on the road – and the last of the David Brown-era cars. This Series III is powered by a 5.3-litre V8 fitted with Weber carbs and has a black leather interior.

The 1990 Virage was bought as a project and has also been dry stored for the past few years. It has just 34,000 miles on the clock and carries a top estimate of £25,000.

Guy Lees-Milne, general manager of Classic Car Auctions, said, ‘Both of these rare Aston Martins offer great potential as restoration projects and will definitely catch the eye of the buyers at the sale. It’s unusual to find two Aston Martin barn finds in the same place and this is an amazing opportunity for anyone wanting to get into the wonderful world of Aston Martin ownership.’
