David Beckham's Range Rover Sports goes under the hammer

Two celebrity-owned cars stole the show at Classic Car Auctions’ sale on Saturday. A Range Rover owned by David Beckham and a Ford Mustang owned by actor Charles Dance both went for strong money at the auction on 5 December.

Dance’s 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible sold for £33,550 and the actor attended the sale to see his car sold for nearly £10,000 over its lower estimate. There was also plenty of interest in the ex-Beckham Range Rover Sport, which eventually sold for £31,350.

The highest value lot of the sale was a restored 1971 Jaguar E-Type Series II 2+2 Auto, which sold for £46,750. But modern classics weren’t far behind with low-mileage 1995 Ferrari 348 Spider selling for £42,625.

It all helped pushed the sales rate at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre to 75 per cent with record total sales of more than £770,000.

Commenting on the results, CCA general manager, Guy Lees-Milne, said, ‘I’m delighted that we have achieved such great prices for our vendors in what was one of our best catalogues of the year, and it’s great to see customers old and new extremely happy with their new cars.”’

CCA is now inviting entries into its 2016 sales, which all take place at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre, with the next sale on 19 March.
