Top 10: Classic cars to see at the NEC restoration show
This year’s NEC Restoration and Classic Car Show returns to Birmingham on 28-29 March. Now double in size of the inaugural outing, everything is bigger! The number of clubs, the number of stalls in the Autojumble, and the number of cars entered into the Pride of Ownership display. These cars have all been lovingly restored in garages up and down the country, and are now ready to be showcased, inspiring some folk to get their project finished and making other green with envy! Mike Chapman’s Ford Zodiac MkI
‘It’s too good to use on the road,’ says Mike Chapman. ‘When I found my Zodiac, it had been languishing in a London garage for 22 years.’ Despite not really needing restoration, Mike stripped the car to a bare shell and rebuilt it as a concours winner. There was no rust, courtesy of the dry storage for over two decades. ‘It was just a bit scruffy – as most low mileage one owner cars become. But I thought it deserved to be perfect.’
