Jaguar XJS: 40 years

We make no apologies for including a second Jaguar here, for the XJS deserves a mention as its 40th anniversary approaches. It may have been controversial when new, thanks to its ‘individual’ hardtop-only styling, but it went on to become a handsome and successful machine that enjoyed an impressive 21-year production run.

From the initial V12 Coupe came six-cylinder models, a convertible, drastic improvements in quality and a very effective facelift. It’s no exaggeration to say that the XJS evolved into a bit of a stunner – and one that’s finally getting the attention it always deserved from enthusiasts.
