Overall reliability

Best old car we've ever had, quick, confortable, economical, reliable, brilliant!

One of the last mk1 Mondeo saloons, bought nearly four years ago with 98000 genuine miles on the clock, now has 131000; used both for regular long runs and shorter ones, always confortable, reliable and economical on the motorway for an old 2 litre engine, also quite responsive when needing to move quickly; huge cavernous boot, good visibility, but headlights are not brilliant; virtually nothing has gone wrong with it, needing only routine maintanance so far; no corrosion yet either, just rather brittle bumpers, easily cracked maybe due to their age. Strong car, well built, it feels good to drive, I really like it, my wife loves it, just dread the day the clutch wears out as it will mean saying goodbuy to the old car given the cost of fixing it: but we'll just buy another more modern Mondeo, for me it's the car to have!
