Midland car workers plan strike campaign against industrial Bill
3 November 1970
By Clifford Webb
Attempts are being made in Midland motor plants to mount a prolonged strike campaign against the Government's proposed Industrial Relations Bill. The first move came yesterday when 500 workers walked out at British Leyland's S.U. carburettor factory in Birmingham.
The men are expected to return today but the walk-out will be followed almost immediately by similar disruptions at the group's Rover and Austin Morris plants.
