Are 1980s' 911 Targas a good investment?

I am looking to trade my 2004 BMW Z4 3.0iSE (with 55,500 miles) for a 1986 Porsche 911 Targa with 129,000 miles on the clock. The car is £17,500 - will it be a good investment?

An air-cooled 1986 911 could be an investment if the car is right. But you need to get it very carefully inspected by a Porsche expert to be sure. 129k is a lot of miles under its wheels. See: classics.honestjohn.co.uk/reviews/porsche/911-1974.../
