Volkswagen T4 suffering from sticky gearbox?
I have a VW T4, 1993, with auto gearbox. It has irritating problems - will not change into 3 on demand (moving the gearshift) for instance, though it changes correctly when driven.
The main dealer said it needed a new box at £350 - no thanks. I tried an OBD reader to detect fault codes but it did not read anything. Have you any knowledge of an OBD reader that would work on this vehicle?
It has two two-pin connectors one black and one white.

Probably a sticky servo valve in the valve box. Might also benefit from a change of ATF since the box is 20 years old. Get it to a member of www.fedauto.co.uk
