I saw a car that looked like a Mk2 Jaguar with the rear of a Peugeot 307 - what was it?

Looking in my rear view mirror the other day, I saw a Mark II Jaguar although, on second glance, there was something slightly odd about its proportions. When it passed me, I noticed that the rear was completely different and the closest I can get to describing the boot was that it was more like that of a Peugeot 307. It had white on black number plates with, from memory either an F or H plate. Any idea what it might have been?

A Mitsuoka Viewt. Built from 1993 to 2004 on the K11 Nissan Micra platform, then from 2005 on the K12 Micra platform. There’s one in this video of this years’s Bangkok Motor Show:
