How much is my 1998 Mazda MX-5 worth?
I have a 1998 Mazda MX-5 1.8s that I have owned from new. It has only done 34k miles and is in mint condition with FSH. How much do you think I should sell it for and could you please advise the best place to advertise it?

1998 was the changeover year from Mk1 to Mk2, and you don't mention which series yours is so I'm going to give you guide prices for a Mk2. A first-class example on a dealer's forecourt would be about £3500, while a similar car in the classified would be about £2500. An example that has an MoT but needs a few things (like a hood) would be about £1500 while a project is roughly £750. There are lots of things that can affect a car's value, such as its condition, mileage, service history but if yours is a low-mileage minter then you should pitch it high.
Have a scout around the classifieds and see if you can find a similar model - then you can price it accordingly. Honest John Classics allows you to upload cars for sale, as do sites like Car and Classic and Classic Cars for Sale. There's nothing to stop you uploading it to every site you can find as the more people you can reach the more chance you have of finding a buyer. You'll get the most money if you sell it yourself private, but it will require some investment of your time - sorting out pictures, writing a description, dealing with inquiries. If you're looking for a 'hassle-free' option then go for an auction such as Classic Car Auctions or Anglia Car Auctions, your choice will probably depend on where you're based and there will be fees to pay.
