There’s no shortage of motoring anniversaries being celebrated in 2019, with some much-loved classic models – as well as major manufacturers – marking big birthdays this year. We’ve picked ten of the most significant... but which one will you be celebrating?
HONDA S2000: 20 YEARS
Launched in 1999 and already seen by enthusiasts as a modern classic, the Honda S2000 was one of the finest sports cars of its generation. This rear-wheel drive gem offered 50/50 weight distribution, an ultra-low centre of gravity and an incredibly rigid bodyshell for the ultimate in handling, while performance thrills were guaranteed via its 2.0-litre VTEC powerplant. An output of 237bhp, top speed of 150mph and 0-60 time of 6.2 seconds helped to ensure plenty of fun, with the ultra-high-revving nature of the engine keeping any keen driver seriously entertained. Twenty years on, the S2000’s appeal is as strong as ever.
