There’s no shortage of motoring anniversaries being celebrated in 2019, with some much-loved classic models – as well as major manufacturers – marking big birthdays this year. We’ve picked ten of the most significant... but which one will you be celebrating?
BENTLEY: 100 YEARS
One of Britain’s best-known brands, Bentley has endured its fair share of down times over the last century, from its collapse and subsequent buy-out by Rolls-Royce in 1931 through to its dilution into a slow-selling badge-engineering exercise by the mid-1960s (thanks to the Silver Shadow-derived T-series). But there have been plenty of highlights too, from the glory days of the ‘Blower’ Bentleys in the 1920s through to the marque’s resurrection as a performance brand via the Turbo R of the ’80s. Under VW control for the last two decades, Bentley now offers an extensive range of luxury gems, including the sensational Continental GT.
