Land Rover launches revised, more expensive, slightly longer Discovery 998 with new 136bhp 'TD5' 5-cylinder direct injected diesel engine, up to seven forward-facing seats and much better road handling than the old model.

Outstandingly competent and comfortable off-road. Price of entry level Discovery E TD5 cut to £21,995. Unlimited mileage three-year warranty on all new Discoverys sold by official UK dealers from March 2002.
