Buying Guide

Good

Cheap and fairly reliable if properly serviced.

Simple to run and not much to go wrong.

Bad

Ugly. Cheap trim. Sunroofs leak.

Power outputs of both engines fell sharply when catalysed from August 1992.

'Pony and trap' is Cockney rhyming slang for 'crap'.

Automatic gearboxes can start to give trouble after 6-7 years.

Watch

Inadequate or incompetent kerbside home servicing.

Could have sat around for a long time before being first registered.

Cheap when new, so very cheap by now.

By 2011 hardly any left.
