Model Timeline
Citroen's wacky but practical C3 based convertible-coupe-pick-up show car became a production reality in 2003, before 3-door C2. Fair weather fun, for sensible money. 3,934mm (12' 11") long x 1,700mm (5' 7") wide.
75bhp 1.4i at £11,995 and 110bhp 1.6i 16v at £13,595 undercut Sport Ka and has four seats. SensoDrive paddleshift semi-auto optional on 1.6i. Makes more sense and looks more fun than Beetle cabriolet. Low (for a convertible) insurance group 4E.
70bhp 1.4HDI from March 2004 offers 63mpg combined and 120g/km CO2 putting it in £85pa VED bracket, price before cashbacks £12,795; after £1,500 cashback £11,295.
Range facelifted for Summer 2008 with new grille and the range is simplified to the Code special edition, which remains unchanged, and Côte d’Azur which has been refreshed in time for the summer with stylish exterior and interior changes as well as increased standard equipment, an expanded engine choice and a new ‘Burlat’ body color. Pluriel Côte d’Azur has aluminium effect roof arches, bumper inserts and side rubbing strips, metallic front grille and revised front and rear lights. Interior revamped, with a polished chrome effect on the door handles and new upholstery.
Standard equipment includes, front fog lights, leather steering wheel, electric front and rear windows and electric door mirrors and Côte d’Azur also gains Cruise Control with Speed Limiter. And offering Pluriel drivers even more choice, the Côte d’Azur is now available with three engines – the 1.4i 75bhp, 1.6i 16V 110bhp SensoDrive and the 1.4HDi 70bhp which combines excellent fuel economy of up to 67.3 mpg out of town and CO2 emissions as low as 125 g/km.
