DELIVERY MEN'S THREAT
Production of Austin Morris cars was threatened last night by a strike of delivery drivers. The dispute is at Cartransport, which delivers a third of the vehicles produced at the Cowley, Oxford, factory.
The drivers have already turned down an offer, described by management as 25 per cent. Car transporter drivers employed by the firm are among the highest paid workers in the Oxford area, regularly earning more than £150 a week. Austin - Morris says the strike is not yet affecting it.
