Burst Pipe Halts Car Factory
23 January 1963
A burst pipe halted production at Nuffield Metal Products, a British Motor Corporation subsidiary factory at Washwood Heath, Birmingham, yesterday and made 2,500 workers idle.
A B.M.C. spokesman said the pipe had fractured in the main beating supply and it had been necessary to shut down the plant to do repairs. Work at the factory, which manufactures body pressings for the Morris Minor 1000. will be resumed with the day shift tomorrow.
