Car factories want more workers

Morris Motors, one of the British Motor Corporation factories at Oxford, and the neighbouring car-body manufacturers. Pressed Steel Company, between them need more than 1,000 new workers.

Production in both factories is almost back to the peak reached before the 1960-61 recession and will probably be even greater before the end of the year. At Morris Motors it is planned to increase output from 5,000 to 8,000 vehicles a week by next year. Both factories expect to start extra night shifts, and Pressed Steel may work a three-shift system in the busiest departments.
