New Strike By Rover Car Workers
5 October 1960
In a piecework dispute yesterday at the Rover factory at Perry Bar, Birmingham, which produces rear axle components, 370 stopped work. A management spokesman said that the factory supplied vital components to the Rover assembly plant, and production would be " seriously affected" unless the dispute was settled quickly.
He added that the dispute had no connexion with the trouble at the Rover factory at Greet, Birmingham, where 350 workers went on strike on Monday. These workers decided yesterday to resume work for negotiations to take place. The night shift was resuming last night and the day shift today.
