Failed gearbox on Jaguar XJ8 - can you recommend a specialist to fix it?

My son has inherited a rather old Jaguar XJ8. Unfortunately the gearbox has now failed, a common fault with this model I am told, and I need to find a specialist or owners’ club to get the car going again. Any suggestions?
