Top 10: Classics at the Tatton park show
The twice-yearly Tatton Park Classic and Performance Vehicle Show is one of the best attended events in the north of England, and always attracts some weird and wonderful cars. This month’s ‘Passion for Power’ event was no exception. Here are our (somewhat oddball) Top 10 cars of the show…
Rover SD1 2600
Every so often, Tatton throws up a real hidden gem, and for us this six-cylnder SD1 was the uncelebrated star of the show. Finished in Richlieu Red, one of the best Mk1 colours, it was completely unrestored, with some minor rust bubbles and paint peel and a slightly down-at-heel interior. But these, along with the original ‘Heron Motor Group’ dealer stickers and period radio-cassette made it wonderful – a car that needs to preserved exactly as is, and never over-restored.
