Figure rolled?

I bought a lovely 1991 Nissan Figaro earlier in the year from an import company in Bristol, they gave me very good service and I have no complaint, however they advised me to go to a Classic Car Insurer to insure the vehicle. I tried three companies that specialize in insuring old cars but they all said the same thing, that the car wasn't old enough. So I ended up insuring it with Direct Line, however, I suddenly realized if the car is stolen or written off etc., I will not get anywhere near what I paid for it: namely £9,000. Would you be able to advise him if you know of any other insurance companies out there that insure these vehicles or do I have to resign myself to the position I find myself in and just keep my fingers crossed?

These three: www.classicowners.co.uk; www.footmanjames.co.uk; www.hagertyinsurance.co.uk . But you will need to join the Figaro club and get a club valuation of your car before any insurer will accept it as an "agreed value", and you will need to restrict your mileage or maybe 2,000 - 3,000 miles a year. Club details in the Figaro entry in car-by-car breakdown at www.honestjohn.co.uk
