Top 10: Cars from the BMC and Leyland day
An impressive and rather fitting turnout of 30 Rover 800s converged on the British Motor Museum at Gaydon to celebrate the model’s 30th anniversary. But it was just part of a day packed with BMC, BL and Austin-Rover eye candy. If you’re not a fan of the British car industry’s darkest hours, then look away now. For here are out top 10 classics from the show…
Austin Metro 310 Van
It was difficult to choose a favourite Metro at the show this year, so much so that two have made our top 10 (and there were two others were only just inched out of it, including the one that won Gaydon’s ‘show and shine’ contest and a super rare ‘sub-base’ entry level one in Primula Yellow). You’d have to look long and hard, though, to find another Metro 310 Van, especially one as tidy and rot free as this.
