Hi guys. Newbie here and have a question about a 2.0 Pinto engine. I was given the engine as part of a package to build a JBA Falcon, which is a kit car version of a Jaguar SS100. Donor car was a Ford Cortina. The engine had been stood in a garden on a pallet and under a tarpaulin for about 20 -

Hi I keep driving past a Mk 2 Cortina for sale, and because I can and it's there, I'm minded to buy it for occasional use. It's £500, for sale by a classic car garage, but i haven't actually stopped and looked it over properly yet. It's four door, but I don't know trim level or engine -
The "French" fight back. 20 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Between approximately 1980 and 1990, my job included a company estate car. At the time company policy was Ford, Granadas for the ?management? and so on. We service/technical people had Cortinas, replaced by Sierras when they were available. I had one Cortina and 3 Sierras from new. The Cortina -

Any - The slow decline of interesting Fords 15 Jul 2024 (Forum)
, possibly slightly more interesting but what is it? Then the Ford Ranger, of limited interest and ability. Is there anything else? I remember so many interesting and fantastically sought after models, the Capri 2 litre & 3 litre, Escort Mexico, RS 2000, etc, Lotus Cortina, Cortina 2.3 -
Car Evolution - why no "Mark" models anymore 18 May 2009 (Forum)
When Ford had their Cortinas, Escorts etc the new model became the next "Mark". IIRC The Cortina, for example, went up to Mark V and I can visualise each of them based on that. However nowadays Audis, BMW, Mercs etc etc all have strange code numbers with each revised model. Why do they not all -

What is the worst, most embarrasing modifiction you have done to your own personal vehicle? Back in my student days, I had a Mk5 Ford Cortina. I did the following mods: 1. Put BIG chrome exhaust tip on exhaust pipe 2. Took ford badge off rear bootlid, sanded the back down and repainted yellow -

Anorak question 19 Dec 2004 (Forum)
I was looking at some old Fords on e-bay and trying to remember some of the colours that were current around the time of the Cortina 1600E in the late sixties. Silver Fox, Blue Mink , Saluki Bronze come to mind. Then there was that metallic pink, was it Oyster ? Anyone help out? -
Biggest impovement on manufactures' model change? 26 Nov 2009 (Forum)
I'd vote for Cortina to Sierra. My company Cortina needed a new clutch every 20,000 miles, a new gearbox at 65,000 miles , a new diff at 80.000 and new discs every 30,000miles. It was completely knackered at 90,000 miles. My Sierras (two of them) did 135,000 miles and 140,000 miles with very little
