June 1995
New Vectra launched to replace the long-lived Cavalier
14' 8" long; 5' 7" wide. From 1,185kg to 1,427kg. Smooth, economical 81bhp Japanese (Isuzu) turbodiesel engine in early diesels. Important improvements for 1997 model year include height-adjustable steering wheel, better seats and Trafficmaster.

Air conditioning standard
Standard aircon from Sept '97 in lieu of sunroof.
March 1998
Suspension set-up improved
Vastly improved SRi and GSi models from spring 1998 with steering and front suspension modifications developed jointly with SAAB. Subtle modifications carried out at the same time to interior and exterior.
April 2002
Final car built at Luton. Vectra B production ceases
