Model Timeline

January 2001
Mitsubishi Evo VII launched

Two EVO VIIs available: RS II 276 bhp model with Active Yaw Control and Recaro seats list priced at £29,995. Also a 300bhp version of the same car called the EVO VII 300 priced at £31,495.

Both do over 150mph, but whereas the 276 gets to sixty in 4.4 seconds, the 300 does it in 4.0 dead.

In addition to enhancements to power unit and exhaust system, Evo VII 300 has a carbon fibre dash and switch panels, carbon fibre gear knob and carbon fibre rear spoiler end plates.

Work on the Evo VII 300 is undertaken by Mitsubishi Motors own UK preparation centre at Portbury, Bristol.

Handling and roadholding of these cars is literally unbelievable, and that's what puts them ahead of any roadgoing Ferrari or even the quickest motorbikes. They will catch anything and nothing will stay with them.

Grey imported 272bhp Evo VII GT-A and 318bhp (0-60 4.4 sec) Evo VII RS Sprint from www.xtreme-uk.net
