The state-owned car company BL P.L.C., formerly British Leyland, said that it was pursuing two offers for its Land Rover division after negotiations with the General Motors Corporation collapsed. In a statement Thursday, BL said the contenders were a Land Rover management group and Lonrho P.L.C., a British-based multinational, and it gave them until April 15 to confirm or revise their proposals.
The BL board said it was no longer pursuing an offer from the Aveling Bradford Company. The Government, under pressure to insure that control of the company remained in Britain, earlier announced the failure of 18 months of talks with G.M.
