Robinson on Edwardes
2 February 1980
THE GUARDIAN
Derek Robinson is quoted as saying of BL chairman Sir Michael Edwardes:
"He talks as though someone else was chairman while plant after plant has been closed down and home markets are handed over to importers. My record of comittment to British Leyland is second to none. I have solved more strikes in BL than Sir Michael Edwardes has provoked, and that is saying something. British Leyland's industrial relations policy seems to be one of blackmail. As for Sir Michael, he either sacks or intimidates people and in myself thinks that he has found a scapegoat for the companies problems."
