BLMC drop plan for new Rover 3.5-litre

British Leyland have abandoned plans to build a replacement model for the 10 year old Rover 3-5 litre saloons and coupes, the company said last night. This is the latest of a number of models to be scrapped by Lord Stokes' group.
The present 3-5 litre models would continue to be built for a ' considerable time ", said the company. Employment at Rovers Solihull, Birmingham assembly plant would not be affected.
