Jaguar meeting minutes
5 February 1971
Subject- V12 engine
"Mr England stated the XJ12 would go into production with carburettors as Brico had made the decision not to proceed with petrol injection."
Subject - V8 engine
"...the double bulkhead in the XJ6 chassis has been completed and Mr Mundy has driven the car. He reports a notable improvement in noise suppression, but there is still some resonance confined to the floor panels, especially at 2,700-3,200 rpm with wide open throttle. Above this speed there are no further critical periods and in the higher range he considers the unit to be noticeably smoother than either the 4.2 or the 2.8 (XK) engine."
