'Once a week' strike threat to car giant
22 March 1969
DAILY MIRROR
The British Leyland car giant is facing a headlong clash with unions over holiday pay.
The first showdown will come on Monday when Standard Triumph's 8,000 production workers in Coventry hold a one-day strike.
They plan to stage repeat strikes every Monday until their demand for increased holiday pay is met.
The campaign will seriously affect the company's car production, including many vehicles destined for key export markets.
