Ex-BMC chief joins Lucas

BUSINESS APPOINTMENTS
Joseph R. Edwards, former managing director of the British Motor Corporation, yesterday joined the board of Joseph Lucas Industries, which manufactures electrical equipment for motor vehicles. A Lucas spokesman said that, in addition to his duties as a director, Mr Edwards would act for the company as a consultant "in the spheres in which he has specialized knowledge and experience."
Geoffrey Iley (BMC Director of Production (paint, trim and assembly) is to become managing director of Triplex Safety Glass in succession to Barrie Heath who remains executive chairman of the company. The appointment takes effect from Sunday.
