6000 Car Men Hit By Mrs X Strike Go Back To Work
22 August 1968
DAILY MIRROR
Six thousand Rover car workers , who were on strike or laid off because of a squabble over a "Mrs X," returned to work yesterday.
The trouble started when Mrs X—she wants to keep her name secret—was transferred (or medical reasons to lighter work at the Rover factory at Solihull, Warwicks.
This caused a battle between two unions for Mrs X's membership. Yesterday, all the men returned to work and the two unions agreed to continue talks over Mrs X today.
