1,000 Car Body Men Without Work

About 1,000 car body workers at the Cowley factory of the Pressed Steel Company are without work today. Of these, 600 make bodies for the Rootes Group's Super Minx. They are working only three days this week and will report back on Wednesday.
About 60 workers making bodies for the larger B.M.C. cars are at home today and will return tomorrow. Most of the remainder are from the paint and press shops. The Rootes Group said today: "This is a domestic matter for the Pressed Steel Company. and is not due in any way to a cut back in our schedules. There will be no effect in Coventry. at least for the time being."
