Whats a good, sticky tyre for our 'practical classic'?

I have a 'practical classic' insofar that it is a classic - 1987 Lada Riva 1.3 SL.

I probably do about 3000 miles a year and although it is my weekend car I do take it out in all weathers.

It is very skiddy in the wet and there is no ABS, the tyres on it are 175 75 R13s and they are inner tubed.

Can you recommend a good tyre thats good in the wet and wears well?

Check on www.tyrereviews.co.uk There must be cold weather tyres for this car.
