Repair of a CVT transmission

I own a VOLVO 340GL Automatic (CVT) and after around ten minutes driving, the idling speed becomes too high when the car is put in neutral causing the gears to crunch. Restarting the engine cures the problem temporarily. The local Volvo garage thinks the "Detente valve", no longer available from Volvo, is faulty. Is there a garage which repairs old CVT transmissions?

No idea. This car is almost vintage. Best I can suggest is to try www.fedauto.co.uk But surely this is an engine part anyway? Not a transmission part.
